I am Sandra Hart. I have been painting for 14 years, taking it up when I retired. I work in all mediums, but oils and pencils are my favourites. I would describe myself as a wildlife and portrait artist, but I like to go outside my comfort zone now and then.

I did refuse a request to paint a spitfire for someone. His wife had ordered a painting of Elton John and he kept asking until I gave in with the proviso that if he didn’t like it, he didn’t have to have it. He was delighted with the finished painting, I was relieved.

I also do a lot of work in stained glass, a little wood carving, macrame etc. If it’s creative I seem to pick it up very quickly.

My other passions are growing bonsai, gardening, and my beautiful parrots.
